July 31st

Hey Everyone!

This week was good. We were able to find two potentials this week,
which is always exciting. :) One is a woman named Lynette who moved
here recently from California. She was meeting with missionaries
before but for whatever reason it stopped but she is willing to learn
more.

The other woman is named Jessica. We were out trying to find a recent
converts House who we have not been able to get a hold of. Well, it
turns out that she has moved and Jessica moved in instead. She doesn't
know much about the church but she also said we could come back! We
will see how it goes. :)

Besides that pretty much everyone was out of town it seems like.
Destiny and their family went on vacation and then Destiny goes home
fairly soon. We hope to be able to teach her one more time tonight
before we have to pass her off.

The Temple is getting close to completion, which is so exciting. They
finished putting up the stained glass this week. Not that we are
actually anywhere near the temple to see it happening but that is what
we hear. But the Temple is so fantastic! The spirit that it brings is
touching lives all over the place and opening hearts.

Thanks for all that you do!

July 17th

Hey everyone!

This week has been pretty normal, which we are not complaining about.
We did have a chance to go help Ralu clean her house. She and her son
have been sick and she hadn't been able to do much house work so we
spent a good three hours helping her clean. Or, well, I cleaned.
Sister Lapine put together a toddler bed for three hours and I think
she realized just how complicated things like that are. :) But I would
choose to clean rather than do that so I worked out well.

We were also able to meet with a man named Nick. We ran into him last
week and he had been meeting with missionaries before but he was very
open and willing to meet with us again. We were fine with that!
Apparently the Elders over the YSA tracked into him as well so he was
just bombarded with missionaries. He really likes reading from the
Book of Mormon. He says that it helps her to be able to finding
greater peace in his life, which is very true. It certainly does!

On Wednesday we were also able to meet with Destiny. She is going back
home in a couple weeks, so we have to send missionaries to her down
there. Now that Summer is winding down (sort of) people are starting
to go on vacation or go back home. Quintin is going home this week as
well.

But yeah. That has been our week. It has been raining more which makes
me happy! The only problem being that we are walking and people don't
really appreciate us showing up wet on their door but it works. People
have given us a lot of rides which we so appreciate. The members here
are awesome.

Anyway, I love you all! Thanks for everything!

July 10th

Hey Everyone!

This past week has been a good week! The 4th July was busy and we got
to stay out 45 minutes past curfew to see the fireworks! :) One of our
Bishops was hosting a party out in his hanger so we got front row
seats for the fireworks. :) One of the nice things about serving in a
stake is that there were a lot of Ward parties to attend! The not so
nice thing was that all the parties but one were at the same time so
we tried to just split our time and make it to all of them but that
didn't work.

We were able to meet with Ralu, the Muslim women, again. She is so
awesome. We took her and her sons over to our Ward mission leaders
house and the kids went and played while we were able to talk about
how much God loves her. Ralu knows how important it is to have God in
her life and her children lives and she has told us again and again
that if people trust in God then he will help them out. She also came
to church this Sunday which was exciting!

Besides that this week has been pretty normal. We were able to knock a
lot of doors...we are looking forth to the 24th of July which is a
bigger deal here apparently then the 4th. But hey! I will be happy if
we get to stay up later and watch fireworks again.

Thanks for everything!

July 3rd

Hey Everyone!

This past week was awesome! We did exchanges this week, which is
always good. I had the chance to go over with Sister Ellis  into one
of the SUU YSA stakes (which is actually the same Stake that I did
exchanges with when I was in Richfield so that was cool). They have a
lot of work! While I was there, Sister Lapine and Sister Zhang were
able to see miracles as well. They received so many referrals and meet
some super nice non members. Basically, miracles happen on exchanges.
:)

We also managed to get in contact with the Brownells, who are recent
converts. They are awesome! And it turns out that they have a
nonmember niece living with them named Destiny. They have been talking
to her a lot about the gospel and she said would take a Book of Mormon
and read it, so we are excited about that!

Then, on Saturday, we were knocking doors again and a nonmember told
us to go over next door because a woman who lived there was super
lonely because her husband was gone a lot and she and two small kids.
So, we thought why not and went over and tried it. This woman was
awesome. She is a Muslim and doesn't want to convert right now but she
is so prepared. She kept talking about how important God was to her
and to her children and how she was interested in knowing more and
letting her kids know more. We are excited to get to go back and teach
her!

But yeah. This week we have been enjoying the cooler weather as we
walk around. We were really excited for the beginning of the month
because our miles would reset. And we had zero miles almost all of
last week. Not that it really mastered that much for us because we are
walking/biking 5-6 days of the week, but it is still nice to have
them. :)

Anyway, I love you all! Thanks for all you do!
