June 26th

Hey Everyone!

This week has been crazy. There is a huge wild fire on the mountains
sort of by us and each  morning we wake up by the smell of smoke.
Haha, we smell like we just spent the weekend camping, but at least
everyone does as well.

Sister Lapine and I went to a lot of meetings this week. We had to go
down to St. George for one of them and we saw the temperature get up
to 116 so we are both very grateful that we aren't in St. George right
now. That is a waaaay to hot. We have discovered an extremely good
way of getting in doors though. If your water bottle is empty then it
doesn't matter what walks of life people are from, they will let you
in. ;)

That same night we were able to go see a family that we had been
trying to see now for the last week. Quentin is a nine year old boy
who is only here for the summer, but his grandma wants him baptized.
We are excited to get to work with him and his family. They came to
church yesterday as well!

We were also finally able to sit down with Jenny. She is here from
China researching a famous journalist who went to work at China who
was from Cedar. She is awesome! Jenny was telling us that she feels
searching deeper into our religion will help her both in her work and
in her personal life, which is very true.

Anyway, thanks for all you do!

I love you all!

June 19th

Hey Everyone!

This past week was pretty normal. Not much happened. We knocked a lot
of doors though and did a fair amount of service. We ran into one lady
who told us that we could come back and weed her garden even though
she isn't interested in learning more about the church. We will see
what comes with that...I think that she thinks we were kidding when we
said we would come back.

We did have the opportunity to teach the Andersons again, that was
good! They said that they don't feel ready for baptism yet, but we
know that they will be soon. They have a lot of faith and hope.

Besides that, not much has been happening. We have been riding our
bikes around and sweating now that the weather is hotter. It gives you
motivation to find people to teach so that you don't have to be
outside all day. ;)

I love you all!! Thanks for everything!

June 12th

Hey Everyone!!!

This past week was good! We had an amazing experience this Thursday.
We received a text from some girls who wanted to get baptized, in fact
they texted us and asked if they could get baptized on Sunday. We were
super excited about that, but even better when we walked into their
house and they had a picture of President Erying hanging on their
wall...and really nice sets of scriptures with their names already
engraved on them. That was super cool, but they were YSA age so that
means that the Elders get to teach them. Funnily enough, we were
telling them this and goes who showed up at their door? The elders.
Ok, that was a little strange because we didn't plan this or anything
but it worked out really well. Miracles happen!

Zone Conference was also this week. It was super good! We talked a lot
about repentance and teaching it to others, as well as applying it to
ourselves. Repentance truly is a gift from God.

Our amazing senior couple, the Miles, finished their mission this past
week. :( But we did get to start working with a family that they had
been working with. They are the Andersons and they are super prepared.
They have come to church several times over the past month and even
though they aren't quite sure about baptism we know that as they
continue to apply their faith that they will be able to make it.

The Miles also came an helped us out this past week with our AC. It
wasn't working until Tuesday, when Elder Miles helped us get it up and
running and then about five days later we awoke to find our swamp
cooler hanging out the window. Not what we wanted to see, but Elder
and Sister Miles helped us put it back up right, but we have no AC
again...

Anyway, we look forward to a hopefully busy week of knocking doors and
meeting people.

I love you all!!!

June 5th

Hey Everyone!!

This week has been insane. So, Sister Kirby and I spent our last few
days in Kanab saying good by to people and doing all we could to make
it an easy transition for the Elders. Seriously, they probably had
the easiest white wash ever.

My new companions name is Sister Lapine and she is from Kansas. Haha,
the first indication that the first week was going to be insane was
when we had to circle the block like 15 times to even find our
apartment. (By the way, my address is now 163s 300w, Cedar City UT,
84720). It was kind of hidden.

We have been able to meet a lot of people this week! Mostly Bishops
and other Ward leaders and they have been awesome! The major thing
that made this week so crazy is that the Cedar West Stake area book
had been switching hands like crazy the last few weeks and by time it
got to us, it had been lost in the cyber world. So we literally had to
start from scratch but the happy news is that we do have one
investigator! Her name is Jenny and she is from China and she has come
to church several times over the last few weeks. :)

We are looking forward to another busy week here in Cedar and finding
those who are prepared for the gospel.

I love you all, thanks for all that you do!!
